How is hypnotherapy conducted?

Updated: Mar 26, 2022

As a hypnotherapist, we will first find out and become familiar with our client's mindset, personality, presenting problem and desired goals.

With this information, we will then tailor a therapy session to suit the

particular requirements and objectives and will spend time creating scripts

and strategies that will lead to a successful outcome.

A hypnotherapy session will go through the following six stages:

  1. Introduction (e.g. goals, challenges, medical history)

  2. Induction

  3. Deepener

  4. Psychoanalysis/ Positive Suggestions

  5. Awakening

  6. Homework (e.g. self-hypnosis)

Hypnotherapy is medically accepted to benefit the following and more: unwanted habits - smoking, nail biting, bed wetting, weight control / healthy eating, improve work / study / sporting performance, boost self-confidence and achieving potential, phobias, compulsions, emotional problems, sleep problems, inhibitions, worries, reduce stress, tension and blood pressure, stomach problems, IBS, gynaecological problems - PMT, psychogenic infertility, obstetrics (painless childbirth), skin problems, pain control, minor surgery, dentistry, arthritic pains, aches and pains, some sexual problems.
