"I sought out Collaborative Change to help me stop smoking. I had a hypnotherapy session with Raymond Tay and gave up that day, that was over two months ago and I haven't slipped once. I will defo be a returning customer to focus on other things I would like to improve! I would highly recommend Collaborative Change for anyone looking to make positive changes in their lives but don't know where to start and need a helping hand!"
Laura, ex-smoker
I've had an excellent experience with my therapist over the past three months and am looking forward to continuing our sessions for a long time. He is extremely well-prepared for each session, utilizing a variety of techniques including hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), role plays, and insightful discussions. His slideshows are informative and engaging, enhancing our sessions significantly. He is not only a great listener but also brings a wealth of experience to his practice. Additionally, he has educated me on various frameworks for personal growth and personality development, which have been immensely beneficial. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a skilled and knowledgeable therapist.

FAQ
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is one of the psychotherapy methods that uses hypnosis to change beliefs, feelings, and/or behaviours. Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. It is a natural occurring state that is similar to when we sleep, meditate or even daydream. During these times, our state of consciousness alters. Some people refer to the state of hypnosis as trance. Trance is normal and wonderful state. People experience it at various points in life like zoning out when driving, being fully involved in watch a movie or becoming anxious about an upcoming event.
What is cognitive behavioural therapy?
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a collaborative short-term treatment with a problem-oriented focus that aims to modify maladaptive thoughts/beliefs and behaviours into positive/balanced ones. Some methods used in CBT include recording thoughts, generating rational alternatives, role play, pleasant activity scheduling, graded task assignments, exposure and response prevention, etc.
Will I be controlled by the therapist during hypnotherapy?
No, you are in control the whole time. At any point during the hypnosis session, you are always in control. You can hear everything the therapist is saying, you can hear all the suggestions given to you. Our unconscious mind protects us from receiving unwanted or extreme suggestions as well. There is no need to be afraid of the therapist planting suggestions of their own desire.
Will I be "stuck" in hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a very relaxing state and at times it can be too relaxing that you simply doze off. As with natural sleep, you will eventually wake up naturally. So far there has been no history of anyone getting "stuck" in hypnosis.
